Burger King Singapore is running “Never Chicken Out”, a cool advertising campaign spoofing videos well known to the Singapore public and calling for user entries via Facebook.
The campaign, online at YouTube and Facebook, promotes eight new Burger King chicken products, and invites viewers to submit “Never Chicken Out” stories to win a Microsoft XBOX 360 with Kinect bundle.
Don’t piss off women. And if you do, guard your privates! Citizen-journalism website Stomp featured a set of three videos in August 2009 in which a woman repeatedly hits a guy in the groin area with her shoe. Burger King’s version involves some chicken inspired self defense.
In October 2010 Philips Singapore got people talking with a video of a bear rummaging through a rubbish bin at a bus stop in Ulu Pandan Road. The “sighting” sparked a search by the Singapore Police, Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (Acres) and Wildlife Reserves Singapore. Burger King’s spin on the incident has the Chicken moving the bear on.
Another video features an ungracious man in business attire “hijacking” a young woman’s cab. The BK Chicken comes along, prises open the taxi door and encourages the girl to kick the guy out.
