VIDEO: Car Magazine’s ‘Oh F…’ Moment when Journo Breaks Ferrari FF

Automobile accidents can and will always happen, but it’s one thing denting your personal ride and another when you smash a £227,026 [equal to about US$367,000 or €260,000] loaner car from Ferrari. And that’s exactly what happened to Car Magazine’s reviewer Jethro Bovingdon during a test drive with the brand new Ferrari FF when he came in contact with a kerb.

Here’s what the British magazine had to say about the incident: “Car had a small altercation with the scenery when we drove the new Ferrari FF.” As you can see in the video after the break, Bovingdon, who was taping himself at the time of the mishap, used a far more expressive language [NSFW, mind you].
Unfortunately, up until now, we don’t have any photos or a video showing the damage to the Ferrari FF.

VIDEO: Ken Block Flips His Fiesta ahead of Rally of Portugal

Ken Block got off to a bad start before his third WRC event of 2011, crashing violently during the shakedown of the Vodafone Rally de Portugal yesterday. Even though the Ford Fiesta RS WRC was destroyed, lucky the American race driver and his copilot Alex Gelsomino managed to walk away from the incident without any injuries.

It's the first major crash for Ken Block in a World Rally Car and this means the Californian will have to watch this weekend's rally from the sidelines. The next WRC event for Block will be Rally Argentina (May 26-29). Check Block's unintentional stunt after the jump.

Dr. Dre Tweets About Totaling Ferrari 360 for "I Need a Doctor" (with Video)

The one and only Dr. Dre recently tweeted a little about a Ferrari 360 getting absolutely totaled for his latest video. Below is a behind-the-scenes shot from the music clip for "I Need a Doctor", the latest confirmed track on Dr. Dre's highly anticipated album, Detox.

Enjoy (or condemn) the video after the break, as it's not every day you get to see a snazzy blue Ferrari get tossed along a hillside road like a plastic bag. Add to that Dre's priceless reaction, and you've got yourself about seventeen seconds of entertainment.

Caught on Tape: SUV Rear-Ends Sports Reporter During Live TV Shot

We can think of many things going wrong during a live TV show, but an SUV backing up straight on a reporter isn’t one them. The indecent happened when ‘10News’ sports director Ben Higgins was reporting live from Tucson, Arizona on the NCAA basketball tournament. Fortunately for Higgins, his cameraman stepped in and stopped the Chevy driver before anything worse happened. Watch the video after the break.

DIY: How to Break a GMC Sierra in Two While Pulling it Out of a Frozen Lake

GMC Seen On www.coolpicturegallery.us

So, let's say your GMC Sierra pickup truck has landed upside down into a partially frozen lake, and you want to pull it out. Common sense says you should chain the truck on the end that's closest to land. Well, the guys that found themselves in this situation opted to chain the other end of the truck with disastrous results for some, hilarious for others. Watch the video after the jump but be warned, it's NSFW unless you lower the volume.

Foxy Mustang vs. Tree: Tree 1, Mustang Nil [with Video]

What enterprising youth hasn’t hooned around an empty car park in a car? I think it’s safe to say that most motoring enthusiasts would have at one stage in their lives, before they had the bravado to exercise their “skillz” [sic] on the track (or, in some cases, a nasty accident that makes them take pause). Well, think of this video as the interim stage between, “Parking Lot Racer” and “Certified Track Demon”.

So we have this guy (it would have to be, yeah?) in a post-1987 Mustang. He’s participating in some sort of coned off track racing shenanigans. It’s all fun and games power sliding through the cones until the 1:05 minute mark. Then...BAM! On the plus side, the car hit on the passenger side, which appears from the video to be unoccupied.

One thing’s for certain; it’ll be a long time before this driver takes another Fox body Mustang around that tree-lined car park. Check out the video below and leave your piece in the comments section.

Mad Vandals Fill Airbrushed Range Rover with…Insulating Foam

Land Rover Range Rover Seen On www.coolpicturegallery.us
The owner of this airbrushed Land Rover Range Rover was in for an unexpected and definitely unwanted surprise when his parked luxurious SUV became the victim of vandalism committed by unknown individuals. The incident presumably took place somewhere in Russia.

Land Rover Range Rover Seen On www.coolpicturegallery.usThe artsy troublemakers not only spray painted the Range Rover and broke several components such as the bumpers and lights, but –get this- they also filled all visible openings including the doors, hood and the rear hatch as well as the alloy wheels with insulating foam!

The only piece of evident, if you can call it that, is an odd message on the rear hatch window that reads “Thelema 666 is make me sick. Is a star. What a f***?” Follow the jump for more photos of the SUV before and after the attack.

Kudos to Alex from Carlifeblog the tip!

VIDEO: Driver Smacks Lamborghini Gallardo on Curve, Blames Broken Shoe Heel

Lamborghini Crash Seen On www.coolpicturegallery.us
A twin-turbocharged Lamborghini Gallardo tuned by Underground Racing received an unwanted...facelift when the driver smashed the Italian supercar on a curve at the Caffeine and Octane event in Georgia this past weekend. A forum member who appears to be a friend of the car’s owner uploaded several photos and a description of the crash over at the Car Lounge. According to the post, the blame is put on the driver’s shoe heels that “came loose and as he stepped on the brakes, the loose part stayed partially on the gas”. A set of videos showing the crash as it happened as well as the aftermath, which translates in a broken rear suspension, wheel damage and some minor body scruffs, also made their way online. You can watch them right after the break.

[From the Car Lounge Post]

"This happened today at Caffeine & Octane here in GA. Owner (Name held back, I'd request the same if you know him) is a laid back and down to earth guy (was giving joy rides to 60 year old lady ). As he was leaving, stepped on it a little, car slid, spun around and jumped the curve. He wasn't even doing 20mph. Walked up to him and he was fine, but it turned out culprit was his shoe heel. Part of it came loose and as he stepped on the brakes, the loose part stayed partially on gas. Which kept him from full braking and gassed the car at the same time. He maintained his cool as people made fun of the situation, mad props to him for staying calm. We got together and helped him get the car out and on flat bed (it was a bitch to get in on). His last few lines were, "well gives me a reason to put some nice wheels and tint my tail lights lol."
Damage: The rear frame snapped off clean where the control arm bolts on to. No under body damage, no leaks, and car fired right up. He said car is going in for repairs Monday and should be back for next C & O.
PS: Before some smart comments come up like, "needs to learn to drive." He has owned this for over a year, and his other cars include a built TT C6 Plastic mess-06 making 1200whp+. Just bad luck I would say.

Oops…He Did it Again: "Mr. Bean" Crashes His McLaren F1

Actor Rowan Atkinson, best known for his roles in UK TV series Mr. Bean and the Black Adder, may drive an original Mini on the screen, but in real life, he is a car enthusiast. So much that he once described in CAR magazine the process of ordering a Ferrari 456 GT and let's not forget that he owns one of the most exclusive and extreme supercars ever built: a McLaren F1.
Unfortunately, the 56-year old actor made headlines today for losing control of his precious F1, and crashing into a sign. No other cars were involved in the accident, which seems to have occurred when the McLaren met a wet patch on the road.
Thankfully, Atkinson suffered only minor shoulder injuries and was taken to the hospital, but the F1 seems in need of some serious repair work.
This isn’t the first time he has crashed his McLaren, either, since in 1999 he rear-ended a Rover Metro damaging the front end of his supercar.

FIA Investigates Jet Fighter Canopies for Improving F1 Drivers’ Safety

May 1st, 1994: the world watches in shock as Ayrton Senna’s Williams-Renault veers off the track and hits the wall at the Tamburello corner of the Imola circuit. Unfortunately, it was an accident that the most charismatic F1 driver of all times wouldn’t survive as his head injuries were too severe. Just one day before another fatality had hit F1 for the first time in 12 years. Roland Ratzenberger’s Simtek wing broke off before the Villeneuve corner and he hit the wall at 196 mph (315 km/h). The cause of death was basal skull fracture.
Fast forward to 2010 and the Hungarian Grand Prix: a loose spring from Rubens Barrichello’s car struck Felipe Massa’s head at great speed, missing his helmet’s visor by inches. Thankfully, Massa was lucky and recovered quickly from the subsequent injury.
The FIA Institute constantly does research on the matter of safety. And in the second issue of its IQ magazine it has published a research about the possible benefits of combining the aviation and motorsport technologies.
One such research concerns the use of jet fighter-like canopies for the protection of the drivers’ heads. Although it is true that since 1994 Formula 1 has made great leaps in terms of safety, resulting in drivers walking unscathed from crashes that in past years might have been fatal, the fact remains that their heads remain exposed as they reach speeds exceeding 300 km/h. At such speeds, any impact would most likely be catastrophic.
Therefore, the FIA institute is conducting research about incorporating canopies in future F1 cars. If you’d like to see what they’d look like, imagine something like the Caparo T1 -probably without the wheel covers.
To see FIA’s tests (and the three aforementioned accidents) just watch the videos after the jump.

This is what a New BMW 1 M Coupe Looks Like after a Heavy Fender Bender

BMW M1 Seen On www.coolpicturegallery.us
The brand-new BMW 1 M Coupe hasn’t been around from more than a few months, but we already have the first recorded accident of which we know about.

The unlucky owner of the car, who is from South Korea, posted these photos of the mishap over at the BMW 1Addicts forum. He said that he was the first customer to receive one of the 80 BMW 1 M Coupes scheduled to arrive in the South Korean market.

He also claims that the accident occurred after another car ran through a red light and crashed into his BMW. Take a look at the car before and after the accident in our gallery after the break.

Caught on Video: Nissan GT-R Crashing into Parked Cars in Moscow

Accidents Seen On www.coolpicturegallery.us
A crazy car crash that took place in Moscow, Russia, on July 6, 2011, was caught on film by a pair of security cameras. The person responsible for the catastrophic scene you see in these aftermath photos that were shot on location is the driver of a black Nissan GT-R.

Accidents Seen On www.coolpicturegallery.usFrom what we can tell, the GT-R driver was either street racing with another car or simply trying out the full potential of his high-performance sports coupe on the streets of Moscow. Whatever the case, he failed to steer left after passing a black vehicle from the right and ended up crashing into three parked vehicles.

The force of the impact was so severe that the parked cars were literally thrown into the air as if they toys. Watch the security cam tapes of the accident in the videos after the break.
